WHO'S WEAK NOW!!!
He was saying a lot of random shit. He was saying that landlords can't rent out apartment days at a time. But renters do it illegally and as a result drive up the over all price of rent because of supply constriction. Which he isn't 100% wrong but he is over blowing the situation.

Why can't I buy a house and rent it out like a hotel if I wanted to?

He was talking about what's legal and illegal, instead of explaining why he feels something is RIGHT.

Many things are illegal. Weed is illegal. Is he turning in his pothead pals?

You owning a house and renting it out like a hotel is very different than you renting a house and then renting it out as a hotel. The first is legal the second generally isn't. Not to mention when something goes wrong you and the landlord are in this together. But when everything is going well no one is cutting the landlord and extra check. Both sides are dirty and taking advantage of the situation. It's just smarter to be on the side of the people that have the support of the law.

Ari was stupid for playing up the moral side.

If there was a way to make good money turning in potheads, Ari strikes me as the type of guy that wouldn't hesitate to do so.

it's a good legal reason. you, rentee, cannot operate a business using my property as your own asset. is /your/ name on that insurance, temporary person living in my walls? you bet your fucking tiddy bits i'd take that as evidence in an eviction proceeding. evicting people is a goddamn nightmare. i'd be even more pissed you made my ass do it.

that 'explanation' is a breach of contract. sorry not sorry.

Let's find some common ground. I think we can all agree Ari is a dick

I don't think people who rent on airbnb are jerks. I don't think the people who rent out their apartment for a weekend are jerks. However, if you are renting an apartment for the sole purpose of renting it out on airbnb 365 days a year, you're probably a jerk. Unfortunately I think the non-jerks who use airbnb are unknowingly contributing to a huge problem in New York and other big cities.

Sorry non-jerks, but all the jerks ruined it for you.

And umm.. And umm.. I have nothing left to say really and um.. Here's 10 more pieces of information so it seems ridiculous to try and sort out all these weird lies.

I don't mean me, silly. I mean the people (assholes?) that rent out their places like a hotel. Obviously they keep it nice for word of mouth.

Didn't your rentee already sign something that says they're responsible for all damages?

By the way, this is a conversation I can follow.
