I'd have to agree. Crying makes you sound weak, and they'll treat you as such. Ripping them a new asshole is the way to go. My wife's great at that.

AOL is the worst ISP out there. They charge more than DSL for dial-up services, if you get disconnected and are using the AOL program, you're screwed because EVERYTHING shuts down (Back when I was using AOL cause it was free, I got kicked out of an on-line test. Got a 0 grade for it too), and to unsubscibe, it's hell. I understand Chemda's situation, as there are many ways to get charged without your conscious consent. Somebody checks the wrong box in your credit card bill, you click "yes" on the wrong sign when they put you through their ads when you are buying something, you sign one of those stupid $3 dollar checks that you get in the mail (Read the fine print, you get $3 for signing up for a $100 service you'll never use), or just plain identity theft. It could be something else entirely

You know who uses AOL? Retarded Baby Boomers like my parents. All my mother does is check her email and foward stupid chain letters to her friends because shes too paranoid to pay bills, buy stuff, and do other useful shit. There goes 30+ dollars. I guess shes all for HUAR.

Agreed, if you get beat at home, the lady on the phone knows you won't fight back with her over 14 bucks. If she was talking to her husband, I bet she woul listen to him.

A-Fucking-Men on that one. When I lived with my wife's family, all they had was AOL, so that was all I could use. Her mother gets on and does three things: IM with her friends, check her e-mail, and play Pogo. At the time, it was $23.95 a month. I think it's $19.95 a month now, but you can still get DSL for the same price.

Okay, so you can't access the AOL-only chat rooms (unless you pay an extra $10 a month for their shit browser and access to their members-only chat rooms), but you can still use AIM, it's free. Want chat rooms that bad? Go to Yahoo. Whatever service you use will give you an e-mail, many with better security and spam-blocking than I've ever seen AOL have. And your online games are still there.

I suppose dial-up's for the older people who are afraid of computers (like her husband who doesn't even check mail or chat, just goes on to play poker), or those who don't bother trying to utilize the internet.
