I will speak from personal experience.
All the times I have been sexually assaulted or violated it was by somebody I knew: My older cousin when I was 13. A friend who drugged me & forced himself on me when I blacked out, I was 17. A lover a few years ago who held me down & forced himself on me after we had been dating for months. Sure wish I would have could have taken my vagina off to stop these assaults from happening... |

That's crazy. I propose this one, at the very least: when meeting a new guy from such-and-such dating app, meet at a coffee shop at noon. Is that good advice? Is that not a good piece of risk-mitigation to teach? |

And don't tell me she was in more danger if he slept there than if she just let him visit |

Here is one thing we can do:
If a woman speaks up about these situations, maybe we don't shame them into a rabbit hole of what they should or could have done... Maybe if we stop shaming victims, perpetrators won't feel as emboldened? |

I wasn't sexually assaulted yet ( but hey I'm under 40 there is still time)
I was robbed at gunpoint, in front of my own building which is in a generally safe, well lit, nice residential area. So what did I do wrong? Dare to walk to my own door by myself around midnight while being female? |
