Chemda is spot on with "In Vino Veritas"
I don't want to go so far as to say that someone that says a racist comment when drunk is racist, but I do believe that drunk people do stuff that is true to their nature.
Anecdotal Evidence 1) Keith Mark Malley: While I've only been listening since 2009 (but I've listened to every episode and I'm a fan of all 13 years), I don't recall a single instance of someone complaining that Keith was "out of character" because he was drunk. Keith is just highly unfiltered when he drinks. Yeah, he shits on casino couches and yells way too personal questions at people that can't handle their alcohol, but that's why we listen. It's Keith unleashed. Maybe the new MNIK could be just Keith getting drunk, yelling at sober guests, and then roasting them for giving less-than-drunk responses. 2) Me: I'm no stranger to alcohol. I have a few drinks at times (even as I type), or get buzzed, or have a bit too much, or about once a year wake up and have to ask my wife how we got home. However, I'm 41 and I've NEVER gotten into a fight, been asked to leave a bar/restaurant/party, or had to apologize for something I don't recall "because I was drunk." On the few occasions I got "blackout" drunk, I actually get calls the next day with people laughing. "Dude, you picked Ivan's wife up on the dance floor, put her knees over your shoulders, and swung her around like you were about to do a hammer throw." "Man, that was hilarious! You made us all walk through McDonald's drive through behind you and make engine noises so you could get a milkshake." Those are the stories I hear when I drink too much. It may not be universally true, but I believe that good-hearted people that get a little too drunk on occasion don't cause many problems.
