We are coming at this from different angles, you are focusing on this situation in particularly (which isn't wrong), while I'm viewing it from a broader application of punishment of using guns to kill people.

You are correct that in this case, the responsibility for the idea is his. He planned it, he pushed, he went through with it. She still bears responsibility in giving in to him, but he did wear her down.

For me, applying it more broadly, I want people to be responsible with their guns. It really isn't that hard: you always assume the gun is live, you always assume a gun shot will kill, you always secure your gun (gun in a lock that is bolted to the floor).

Since we don't seem to be allowed to make it a requirement of owning a gun in the U.S that you be a responsible gun owner, then the other option is to make the consequences harsh for not being responsible.

That being said, I would prefer more proactive means for gun safety. But since we've seemed to decide as a nation that we don't want proactive measures, then that really only leaves deterrent. Personally, I can only think of a few things harsher than losing your own life, but clearly, it wasn't enough to stop this man. What does it take? Do we have to threaten to smash his balls with a hammer?

Damn, that story about the brown belt made me sad. That's a pretty big achievement and his parents said "nah, no belt test for you"? Assholes. It takes years to get to that level! Ugh.

I mean unless he murdered a puppy, then it's justified.

I've never seen 1 girl 2 cups
I've never seen any of this whacky crazy shit online and I will never look at it.Forget cursing, this should be the thing your family prays for you to stop, Keith. It can't be good.

Straight dudes and their "plans" and "estimations of time" fucking kill me. Met up with a friend I hadn't seen for a long time and he wanted to get drinks after work. We both get out around 5. I rush to the other side of town to the bar and ask for his ETA. He's home eating dinner and will "probably head out around 10." GTFO

The we did "nothing" thing can be annoying because it's not descriptive.

Women do "nothing" too. Except when you ask what they did they will be like "my friends came over and watched Netflix and drank wine".

One of those is a conversation starter the other can feel like a wall depending on who you are talking to.
