I had a friend of my brother who was 16 when he was accused of having child pornography on his computer. He was tried in court and the judge decided not to send him to jail. His only defence was that he liked looking at girls his age. In the sentence the judge said that the fact that he wanted to see girls his age did not make it illegal, and the only reason he was not going to send him to jail was not to turn the kid into a criminal by locking him up.... he sent him to a psychiatrist....

This is in Europe... don't know if the laws ae different in the US..
