One of the perks of motherhood is being able to start any sentence with "AS A MOTHER...." as though that gives you some more of a horse in the game. It's great for spilling out any bullshit, try it!

I don't at all feel the need to have my own kids. There's nothing in me that wants to pass on my genes or "needs to be connected to" a child by blood. My family is garbage and I wouldn't want to be responsible for bringing another member into existence. Just being connected this clan of manipulators and liars and completely absent, judgemental assholes, and 7-Day Adventists seems like child abuse.

Plus I also don't like kids in general.

Thus adoption is the only option I'm interested in, but not in NYC, not right now as I'm nowhere near financially stable enough to care for another life, and maybe when I'm not single? That last point is not set in stone.
