Last I've heard, I might be wrong though, but iTunes ratings are based on number of people to click the subscribe button within the last set amount of time.

I looked at Dane Cook's podcast listing on itunes and I like how all the user reviews showing in the initial view are one or two stars..

Also Its strange how lots of the itunes podcasts are commercial podcasts that have got to be funded by some company, like Nike, Comedy central, or G4 but yet the top 10 of podcast alley are independent podcasts.

Loved the show, Max was pretty funny.

Keith, the rating is based on NEW listeners. I've heard its in the last day but someone also said the last few hours. You have a dedicated fanbase but obviously if dane cook starts up a new podcast he is going to get more people in the first couple days.

Its a real shame because iTunes IS the most important podcast ranking. None other are even comparable. It might be really hard but you have to do something to get on the top 25 on itunes. it will increase the listener base by a lot.

I'm really glad to see you looking past PCA and onto bigger things. Awesome

By the way: you're 33 on the "comedy" rating at the moment.

And Chemda, addiction is something (there's debate whether it is a disease or a learned condition) that is generally intrinsic in an individual. While anyone can get addicted to substances, behaviors and whatnot, some people have a propensity to be addicts. For them the slide into addiction will be quicker, though once an individual is an addict, that is a behavior that translates to other facets as well. A gambling addict is more likely to become addicted to say, drinking, if they engage in problem behavior. That's why when people are treated for addiction, the whole thing is to try to eliminate problem behavior of any type, instead of allowing the possibility that it can be replicated in some other shape or form.

Hmm, I guess the one sentence summary of that is that if someone is addicted to one thing, be careful, as there is a damn good chance they'll get addicted to something else.
