Well yes, obviously some innocent black kid would get beaten if not killed did he not calm down. He admits that himself.

The argument here is that you can't assume the act was racially motivated as the rapist could have been any other race/ethnicity and the outcome would have been the same.

He said he went to black neighborhoods hoping that someone would start a beef with him so he'd be able to violently retaliate. Not in the hopes he could find a specific black person for retribution.

I don't see how any of this is relevant in this argument of his actions being racist or not. Yes, they have it bad, but does that mean that every attack on a black man by a white man comes from racism? You can't just say it is because of history. In that case, if Liam was Asian it would not be considered a hate crime anymore?

I hope that I didn't come off sounding like I approve him killing a person. Be it black or white, his actions wore wrong.. It just seems wrong to me to automatically label him as a racist.

I didn't say any of that. His actions wore wrong. Racism does exist.
The argument is that his actions wore not necessarily resist just because there was a black guy at the other end.

But even if I would agree with you I would still rather see him speak and condemn this behavior. Why is his speaking out/confessing bad?
Isn't this the first step of fixing the problem?
