Even as a guy I get asked ďare you ever going to have kidsĒ. Iím like well my goals are to travel the world, enjoy life, meet people and I donít see kids fitting into that.....the shit people say. Literally got told, ďnothing will fulfill you like being a parentĒ...fuck you...cause trying to achieve my life goals is so not fulfilling. Oh and I never should of said ďI donít want kidsĒ at my job, theyíre all parents and itís like Iím some kind of hell demon nobody can relate too. Iím like thatís cool, I got my life, my people and Iíll be fine without being included. Just my personal experience.

I would never tell anyone they should have kids because in my opinion the first test if you will be a good parent is if you really want to be a parent.
Someone who isnt really into it wouldn't be ok with the changes life with kids brings.
And thats bad for the kids.
Its not something everyone has to do.
On the other hand its its something I couldnt compare to anything else in my life before.
It opened me up to love so strong I didnt feel it before and it changed me.

And Im glad to see that you can be nice and honest to your kids. It gives me the opportunity to relive a childhood this time being the parent and doing a better job than my parents. Its somehow healing.
No violence and fear here. It can be done.

i expected to feel a maternal call and it has yet to come. if it hasn’t shown up by now, and i’m turning 34 in a couple weeks, i figure it just ain’t comin’. plus, i barely know how to hold a baby, much less keep one alive. i’ve not been around many and most of my close friends don’t have them. sounds like a lot of work and a steep learning curve. no thanks.

addendum: in my explorations of these feelings i got heavy into breeder kink porn. but, there’s a distinct difference between the filthy, fantasy power dynamic of being knocked up and wanting to be a parent.

That was me before kids. I am an only child and i had no cousins, I never did baby sitting and wasn't especially interested in anyone's kids.
But I always knew I wanted kids. And still I always said : NOT NOW. Next year.
One day I realized that if I know I want kids, there will be no better time.
I was 33.
After the birth of my daughter I wasn't convinced I should be left alone with her, because WHAT DO I KNOW?
I never did this before.
Things are good, I figured it out.

My parents tell me to have kids, but have also said they dread that I would because they wouldn't grow up Catholic.

Religion's just great, ain't it?

You can stop the religion luckily as a parent.I was raised very Catholic and I didn't baptize my kids or introduce them to any religion.
My parents were better about it than I expected.
They don't say anything bad about it. Maybe they have grown too.
