LOL Some of you seem to want cards (with sincere sentiment (duh)) more than you know.

Getting cards is a pain in the ass because words are cheap and yet it still somehow feels rude to throw them away.

Xerxes Cards

OMG!! I just heard Chemda tell how Xerxes got her 15 birthday cards and Keith reading them....it made me cry!!! That was UNBELIEVABLY amazing! I've been with my husband for 16 years and there's no way he remembers all those details about my life, not before we even knew each other!
Chemda, Xerxes is an amazing man and obviously nothing like the people who've hurt you in the past, you better trust and believe! I can't wait to hear what you do for his birthday, it should include lots of blowies

I don't think I've gotten a card since college. I don't give a toot. The best thing I've gotten on my birthday is an invitation to a surprise party that was a sheet of paper with pictures of my favorite video game character on it. That had more emotional sentiment to me than any bullshit "Cherished child" "great grandson" "loving nephew" card I've gotten.

My point exactly

Huge difference between a card and a love letter. I'd like to hear what minimum 'mushyness' (ugh that word is so yucky to me) Chemda would have accepted in the card.

Obviously what Xerxes did was sweet and thoughtful and I'm not surprised by him being able to deliver that but would a card with 'You make my life better, I love you' been acceptable?

we need to go back to the drawing board and define "card"
this science is terribly misleading

“Cards are dumb. I don’t need a card. I never did. Just a nice poem is plenty.”

it was an invitation but okay sure. I am wrong and that is a card
I still haven't gotten one since college and I still feel like my friends love me when I get nice texts or we go out on my bday

unless texts are also cards.
then I'm not sorry
