Normally my mind is like: Something terrible will happen, what? What? What? WHAT? Let’s think about every possibility for hours and feel worse. Now it’s more like “it’s happening already. Let’s get trough this” Was my mind build for crisis? That also not great. Last edited by Apia resurrected; 06-13-2020 at 11:04 AM. |

been having a lot of one on one conversations when i go back home to the Mountain regarding the things happening here in Georgia and for every one that restores my faith in my people there are dozens more that bring me shame. change happens slowly for them, it’s a mark of the insular nature of the culture, but i’m tired of being patient; white tears, apologists, rationalization after rationalization. the recent protest event scheduled there was cancelled after violent threats a year after the KKK held its own rally with little pushback. we are part of the problem. i belong to problematic people. chipping away at it is a lifetime effort.

Saying you belong to problematic people and not defend them or rationalize their reasons is a big step and most people can never do it.
My father for example defends everyone from our family, even the most problematic people. Form what? I don’t know. Somehow he needs to believe he comes from a perfect family and that’s obviously not true. |
