I'm going to hang onto Emily's "I'm not a medical expert" stance and ignore everything else she said about COVID, McDonalds, fat shaming, age, and when friends ask you to pay for your concert tickets.

So about the “eating what your body tells you to eat” thing. That is correct! But it takes a lot of work to train your body to do that. My work paid for a nutrition program that taught this. First you have to break all your old habits, only eat when you’re hungry, stop when you’re not hungry anymore, eat slowly, take breaks while eating...... if you just tell people “eat what you want! A snickers is the same as a salad” then they’ll just use it as an excuse to eat an entire little Caesars pizza (too specific? No I totally haven’t eaten an entire little Caesars pizza recently).

You need an excuse to eat an entire Little Caesars pizza? That must be what I'm doing wrong! Now I just need to come up with a list of excuses and not use any one more than once a week, that should do it.

by the by, I'm not shaming you here. I do this about twice a year... possibly 3. It's a feed the depression/stress thing. So I had to comment. For me there is a lot of self hate mixed with depression and stress when I do it. With less self hate I would eat a good pizza. lol, seriously though.

You were so correct. Not nearly enough comments about her shitty roommate or made up covid factoids

The roommate unloading their anxiety onto you thing...the worst. It's one thing if I'm your friend and we're having a mutual bitchfest, but when it's one-way conversations everyday you develop vicarious anxiety about shit that has no bearing on your life.

My current roommate is great but he does the thing where his leg shakes really fast and shakes the floor/table, which annoyed me at the beginning of "the quar" but now I'm basically numb to it.

Haha I disagreed with almost everything she said, but definitely enjoyed the listen.

I think she has a valid point when it comes to food, but maybe she is too extreme.
When you really listen to your body and it’s needs you will not eat candy for every meal.
And I think in America people are obsessed with food in a negative way.

If you can commit to intuitive eating and don’t have a real eating disorder in the first place, you will feel better and gain a better feeling for your body.
