I'm alright at following instructions so I've always found turkeys easy to make. It's more the prep time and appetizers and all the other stuff for guests that takes effort.
Keith, you're acting like you didn't have the chance to make a turkey over 40+ previous years because of other people, LOL. Happy for you this Thanksgiving. |

Spatchcock
I cut the spine out of my Turkey this year and broke the breast bone so it would last flat. Then seasoned as normal, so good! And because it laid flat it didn’t have that dry hollow cavity it cooked in half the time and the white meat was more moist. SO GOOD! It’s called Spatchcocking, I recommend it.
Trust me, look it up, it’s not some dark web thing. Breaking the breast bone on a 20 pound Turkey want easy, but it was worth it! |

No offense to Kyle, but if you're hosting Thanksgiving dinner at your house, it should be understood the home team provides the turkey cooking on premises. You don't ask a guest to bring a turkey! That was the most outrageous part of the story, not that Keith was going to frankenstein up a bunch of turkey parts!

Hey, Keith came out on top of this one. I think asking him to get a precooked turkey wasn't asking too much but it sounds like there wasn't time to order it.
I'd like to hear that Keith did a spatchcock turkey for Christmas! Honestly I agree very much with Keith this time, Turkey is easy, just follow directions and don't think you know it all. It is easy to completely screw up but really it's usually some real f-up. The hardest thing is a large turkey. Those are hard to keep moist. (I might try mayo next time and see how that works) The seasoning is key and it sounds like Keith has that figured out, NICE! Aces 10 my friend! Good job! now get the Baked Alaska ready for new years eve! Oh, yeah and SUPPORT THE KICKSTARTER! |
