Blitzgal, it's the other way around.

From http://www.straightdope.com/mailbag/mpencillead.html :

"The #1 pencil has the softest and darkest lead, but most people find that it smudges too easily and needs resharpening too often to make it appropriate for everyday writing. It is sometimes recommended for writing on the backs of photographs because it leaves a readable mark without requiring as much potentially damaging pressure as harder leads. The #2 pencil is harder than the #2, but it's not as popular because it leaves a lighter mark that some people find hard to read. It is often recommended for taking stenographic notes because it requires less frequent sharpening. The #3 and #4 pencils are harder and lighter yet, and even less popular for everyday writing."

#2 is also marked HB because it is balanced between Hardness and Blackness. The blacker the mark, the softer the pencil. You can also see a scale of this at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pencil where you see the correlation between the US scale (#1, #2, etc) and the European Scale (B, HB, etc.).

The reason you use #2 pencis for standardized tests is because the mark shows up better than a #3 or #4 pencil (it is darker), but doesn't smudge as easily as the #1 pencil (it is harder). I remember when I first filled in my standardized tests (back in 1st or 2nd grade) it was "Fill in your answer completely and make your mark DARK!". #2s are the best at doing that job.

I had a similar exprience, 'cept it involves ninja sneaking, masterful voice acting, an air horn, and 20% loss of hearing in my brothers left ear. Oh the fun!

hahahahaha

well what happen is i never anwser my phone when certain people call. so she anwsers it and im force to listen to what they have to say and then reject them on the spot rather then just not anwsering my phone. so she did it after i told her not to, and then i just punch'd her in the face. and she fell on the floor and i laugh'd as i step'd over her lifeless body
