3544: Teachbot w/ Shalewa Sharpe

Listener favorite Shalewa Sharpe joins KATG to discuss finding love through phone scams. The trio also discusses more information that came out about the May 2022 Texas elementary school shooting including the 40 cops with weapons that waited for better equipped tactical officers to arrive. Actor Ray Liotta unexpectedly passed away in his sleep, Josh Duggar was sentenced to 12 years for possessing child porn, and Kevin Spacey was hit with 4 more counts of sexual assault in the U.K. while taking the stand in Manhattan for an unrelated sexual abuse case. Have a great Memorial Thing!

Have the bank issue it

Just started listening to the last episode. I'd suggest for landlords like Shalewa's*that*she has the bank issue the check. I have my bank automatically send the landlord a check. It's deducted from my account so I won't have to worry about "balancing" the amount monthly.

She can also have it mail to her address directly if she wants to just "hand" it over to them.*

That's what I do for my landlord.

(btw, how do I get the other 24-hour marathons I backed on my profile ? Finally finished listening to the marathon! Great job all! )

Thumbs up Oh!

The other day on Grindr I got a random message asking me to take a screenshot of the grid and send it. I thought it was odd and didn't think twice about it. I want a Teachbot pilot because it was playing out in my head as Shalewa was talking about it and it was hilarious. 😂

In my job I travel alone for work and have done so for 17 years. I love going to eat alone.
Doesn't bother me at all.
I listen to a podcast or music and feel good. Can go and have very spicy vegetarian Thai food as often as I want ( 90 % of the time) and really enjoy it.

Maybe the pandemic with lockdowns was actually saving people in your beautiful country from being shot to death.

I think of that often. I wasn't taking the subway either and since people have been commuting back, there's a rise in subway attacks too. People just suck here.

What did lockdowns cause to the mental health of those locked down? What mental health and socio economic conditions are associated with suicide and violently lashing out? Have we seen suicide rates trend in a predictable direction from the lockdowns? Do you see any correlation with an uptick in shootings (mass or otherwise) coming out of lockdowns and massive psychological burdens on already unstable people? Any way the lockdowns may be part of the causal chain in this trend?

Not sure if you can correlate that without data. I'm an introvert. I preferred the lockdowns, didn't affect my mental health. However, I totally empathize with extroverts who were in lockdown without people and needed that outlet. There are always mass shootings, we just aren't privy to all of them, which is the unfortunate thing about this country. There have been mass shootings, suicides, and violence prior to lockdown. The problem is still guns.

Here's a chart from 2021. https://time.com/4965022/deadliest-m...ng-us-history/

Certainly seems like the numbers have always been high prior to 2020.
