The accidents happen, no one's died since 2015. But that's because of how safe the cars are now. Roman Grosjean should've died a few years ago but somehow managed to survive with only minor burns and bruising. It's amazing cause he put his car into the steel barrier and the car was torn in half.

At the Monaco GP this past Sunday was a pretty major crash on the opening lap.

Chinese driver Zhou Guanyu survived a crazy lap 1 incident at Silverstone about 2-3 years ago. Literally seconds after the race starts he gets hit and his car flips upside down and slides and hits a barrier causing it to fly up towards the grandstands only to be stopped by the fencing that's there to stop any debris from hitting spectators. The Halo did it's job that day. Else Zhou mightve been decapitated/become a meat crayon when it slid upside down like that.

Rojo's friend's mom's point about "he has it in him" is something I've been thinking more and more watching movies/tv shows where actors do extremely convincing turns as complete assholes. I recently watched The Tree of Life (a movie Keith would hate so much I bet) where Brad Pitt plays an abusive father very convincingly. It hits different when you know he was an abusive father in real life too.
