I've been with my bf for 8 years, I'm not the pushy "oh my god we need to get married, what will our friends think" type. We've been together long enough that I know we'll always be together, and I just don't care whether or not we're officially married. Plus, we're only 25...
I'm easy, if we do get engaged I don't want a real diamond. He knows to get me a gigantic cz ring though, of course I'll want to show it off to my family and girl friends. No one I know can tell the difference. If we get married, I don't want a wedding. I want to spend every dime we'd spend on a wedding on a kick ass vacation. (I think my friends will thank me when they don't have to buy a shitty dress they'll wear once, or make their boyfriends dress up and listen to them complain all day)

Just thought I'd add the romantic tale of two school friends.. Well they weren't friends, they were both monsters (Look wise) and kinda settled on each other. Anyway they decided that because getting married is an expensive venture that'd get married on September 11th (3 years ago i think). Lovely to think that they're anniversary will be 9/11 every year.. Anyway keep up the good shows

Reading the vows section of the Times. Sometimes it's good for a laugh, other times it makes me wonder why I'm not out leading an amazing adventurous life.
Then again, it's all on the spin. Anyways, came across this: They married themselves, which is allowed under Colorado law, in an adobe chapel filled with candles and young couplesNeat. Didn't know that was an option. Makes sense. After all, legally it's just a contract singed by the parties and witnesses. |

My roommate's girlfriend proposed to him about 3 months ago. He said OK and they came running in to tell me the news. A week later, he gets a MySpace message from some random guy that says he's been fucking my roommate's now fiancee. When he confronts her about it, she said "We got the rest of our lives to be with each other, so one time's not a big deal." As if that's an excuse.
Anyway, he broke it off, but he's still fucking her. And she's no doubt fucking the rest of the town. Balls to them. |
