But I agree with you. I think dickhead dads are the exception. All of my friends' dads (including my own) were and are great guys. I just calmly respond back to her, "That's ok because I still love you."

I also had a great relationship with my dad. That's probably because I was basically the miniature female version of him. We were both bookish nerds. I was more at odds with my mother. My dad passed away when I was fifteen, but I think we'd still have interesting chats about our interests like we did back then.

Also, my co-worker's husband had that surgery to help correct his scoleosis (fuck it, I'm not looking up the spelling of that one). He had a steel rod implanted just like they talked about on the show. After the surgery he was eight inches taller!! (I think he's a closeted fag, but that's another story)

*As a non-drinker I also get the stinkeye from people who don't know me but most people I hang around with know me well enough to be used to it. I get free sodas and they get plastered. It's fun. The only reason I don't drink is because I have zero tolerance for it and skip right over the buzz directly to feeling sick enough to puke. There's no point.

Actually that was a phase she went through a few months ago...she doesn't do that any more. She would do that when I told her it was time for bed or something she didn't want to do. Now, she's pretty good at doing what she needs to do at night....except we have to watch these 5 minute Superman videos on YouTube. She's obsessed with Superman...for the last several months actually. She dressed up as superman for Halloween and she's still hooked on it. It could be worse...it could be those Bratz dolls.
