This section is "show talk" ie: talk about the show - an open door. Blitzgal "talked," explained why she was upset. But you, on the other hand, took it upon yourself to tell her not to ring the doorbell, to "keep it to [her]self".

A lot of people think that anything can be funny in the right light. Some people are more sensitive about suicide jokes, because they've been affected. Maybe someone's been hurt by a gambling, alcohol, crack addiction. Everyone is going to have the few things that are more sensitive than anything else. To try to avoid those things would mean no jokes were ever made.
