whenever I go out to eat with friends, the server asks if we want to split the check, and we usually do. I've never really thought about it being weird. We'll still do it

where i live (Northern California) we dont usually split our checks. i mean, u can if u request it, but the restaurant doesnt automatically ask if thats what u want to do.
