this hoopla over split checks is really blowin' my mind. I live in the south where I've never known anything other than split checks, and I'm glad for it. where's the big offense? it's convenient since hardly anyone I know carries a lot of cash around, it's fair, and it takes a massive hunk of potential stress and hassle from the dining process.
I feel like I'm watching an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm and everyone's mad at Larry but no one can say why. |

keith and chemda - from the midwest - at least here in st louis and almost all of the time i'm out with friends in groups folks are calculating the check ... i guess that's how we're different from NY
hot tea? sure - there's some, but probably 95% of the tea here in st louis is iced tea unless you're downtown here in STL ... i think that must be flyover country too the tipping everyone under the sun ... that seems to be NY ... don't get me wrong - some folks need tipping but tipping your UPS guy here in st louis seems crazy to me and ive never heard of anyone doing it here (and you in the midwest that do - shush! you're not in the norm for 'FLY OVER COUNTRY') it's all good - just different ways for diffferent places

KATG on the cutting edge of nerd-analysis
Anyone else notice that after KATG's hilarious and accurate assessment of nerds, a certain popular National Public Radio program opened a recent show with a similarly themed segment?
http://www.thisamericanlife.org/Radi...px?episode=192 Way to be ahead of the pack, KATG. Nanu-nanu. |

So does anyone know the story behind the "soccergirl" song by Brolo? From the bits I've heard here and there it doesn't sound like they're friends or anything. Just curious
