kooky
Damn, if Spooky is the kind of dude I think he is, he'll laugh it off. He's a young single artist, there's hardly any repercussions for his social bluntness, so why should he change?
However, the risk that Keith took in calling him out... He's too good of a friend to discard. Remember when he climbed up the balcony to get into their apartment when they went to the podcast expo? They say,"Nothing ventured, nothing gained." I'd say Keith ventured quite a lot with that joke. |

Riley: Oh, I saw that girl. She wasn't little. I'm little. Gary Coleman's little. Mini-Me is little. And to the best of my knowledge, we all managed to avoid gettin' peed on so far! Tom Dubois: But what about the victim! Riley: Oh yes! The victim. At what point does personal responsibility become a factor in this equation? I see piss comin' I run. She saw piss comin' she stayed. And why should I miss out on the next R. Kelly album *just* fo' that? [walks away] Huey: Man, you just beat by an eight-year old. Riley: [from afar] And if R. Kelly goes to jail, I'ma piss on yo' cat! |

So I'm relistening to the show and listening to Chemda asking about if Celebrity Rehab works in its mission to get people sober.
As a recovering drug addict (5 years in april!), shows like this really are....inspiring to me. Its sort of a hard feeling to explain. I was talking about the show with Keith in chat once early in the season, and was explaining that I felt bad for wanting these guys to fail and for the show to be a trainwreck. Keith proceeded to tease me about drugs and left. Good old Keith. As I kept watching the show, it really became something that I could relate too, and I also learned quite a bit about the recovery process (I never went to rehab. I quit cold turkey, and was definitly lucky that I made it thru on my own). Seeing the transformations of some of these people (especially Seth) really sorta boosted my own continuing will to stay off the drugs. Now, I'm not saying that the show wasnt a trainwreck, and that there wasnt plenty of room for ridicule, but it did sort of inspire me to keep going. I grew attached to the people and really wanted them to succeed in their sobriety by the end of it all. Ironically enough, I couldn't watch the show without drinking. It stirred up some pretty heavy emotions. I also passed out drunk shortly after I submitted my comment on the show (I think). I was surprised to hear that they read it on the air. Good old booze. |

Regarding my question "What do you hate most about him/her?". My answer to Keith when he asked what I hate most about my wife was;
"I don't hate anything about her - the only thing I hate is not knowing how to console her sometimes when she is upset about her brother who passed away a couple years ago. I wish I knew what to say to make her feel better." It was a quick answer but, like you guys, I can't think of anything I actually hate about her. As for my wifes answer she said "nothing". And until we go on Moment Of Truth and I hear different, I'm sticking by what she told me. Maybe McNally should hook up the lie detector for these questions. All he needs to do is go to dinner with the guy from Glamour, get him to buy a few drinks, then sweet-talk his way into being given one. Easy. |
