Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd another reason why Wikipedia isn't valid, ESPECIALLY after someone's death.

Jesus - Who can believe that shit when everyone is aware of this stuff? There's a reason they locked Benoit's entry, as well as Irwins'

gads, listening to it when it started was horrific, then when it stopped it's like when the dentist removes the drill. The pain just floaaaats away.

Just FYI, Arthur c. clarke had lots to do with satellites, in fact the geostationary orbit at 36,000 kilometers above the equator is named The Clarke Orbit by the International Astronomical Union. He did not develop satellite tech, he figured out the wonders of the geostationary orbit. And he was one the three or four best science fiction writers who ever lived. 2001 the book is much better than the movie, and it is not his best by any means.

Oh yeah, you certainly proved your point that Clarke did more than write about satellites.

Wait.

You didn't.

Well now you know. If you don't mind, pass the word on to Michael Bay that making Transformers does NOT make him a scientist either.

Just because he didn't work on a specific satellite does not mean he did not do any scientific research or WROTE SCIENTIFIC JOURNALS that furthered the theories behind satellite technology.
Exactly right. Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity is an example of this. According to the logic expressed by many of the previous posters, any scientist who boarders on the philosophic is illegitimate. Including Einstein early in his life. It's alright to argue from this viewpoint, but be sure to know exactly what the consequences of such an argument is before you make it.
