There have been a number of cases in the US, in Florida, New Jersey and California, where it was deemed illegal to require people to know English to get a job or hold US citizenship. Apparently there is no Official Language in the US. The government must pass a Law to create an official language, and it never has. To require people to learn English has been considered unconstitutional in the courts.

there was this sci-fi author that started to pirate his books anonymously because his publisher wouldn't make ebooks available. he got a lot of press recently because his sales increased by the hundreds of thousands and the author credited it to piracy. can't seem to remember his name tho.

I thoroughly enjoyed this show. And like most, loved hearing the wonderful stories that make my life seem not so silly. Black Judge telling white people to leave so he can give his jello speech and sell his book, make people learn english when they do crimes.

It took me about 5-10 minutes to find the podcast of his book, so I thought I'd at least post it (to save other people the effort). Many of the links (1,2) I initially found were broken. So, here's a good one:

Also, his book had been available through podshow, which means podshow owns his book (just kidding).

If anyone is looking for information on his book, I should mention that the title was apparently changed from "Infection" to "Infested" to "Infected". I figured that out after a few minutes, but I initially thought the internet was completely screwing up the title.

Anyway, I'm surprised how much the last 16 minutes (and the last 20 seconds in particular) sounded like an infomercial. I sort of got the vibe that KATG was being paid to promote. Did anyone else have that thought?

[ Edit: And, by the way, just to head off any of the "KATG is allowed to advertise" complaints/arguments, I fully agree with KATG monetizing their podcast and hard work with advertisements if that's what they choose to do. ]
