Listening back to the show, I think Chemda had a good grip on things. She definitely had opinions that, while they might not have been what I wanted to hear, made a lot of sense. Especially the comment about how "she still feels like a stranger to him".

If your thing is hanging out a lot until things just happen, then go hang out with the girl. Apparently dates make you nervous about what's acceptable (starting from reset), so it doesn't have to be "a date". While you're hanging out, then if things happen, great; if not, also fine.

As far as moving back to Canada, a lot can happen in 6 months. Just make sure she knows there is a clock attached to you being in NY, and if she's fine with it, then don't worry about it.

Don't worry too much about the fact that you are only here for a limited time. Nobody really knows how long they are "here" so just live your life and go for it. My friend got married to her forever love and less than a year later she was a widow. Doesn't that cheer you up?
