Robert's in a shitty position because so many people try to take his word as truth, that he somehow has the answers to the meaning of life, and if whomever hears him doesn't do what he suggests, then he has somehow corrupted them with his reading. Do people do everything their legal advisors tell them to do, or their financial advisors, dieticians, etc? Some do, others take a piece here and there and go from there. Robert needs to have disclaimers because he is not the foremost authority in his field, and his advice should not be taken as literal direction. Unfortunately, not everyone knows that. I'm sure that if Robert found too many people taking his advice too literally, then he might consider another career. In the meantime, he knows who is suited to his services, and that it is not for everyone.

I would like to believe there are a few (and I hope this includes Alvarez) responsible/reasonable Psychics out there. It seems unfair that just because some physics are scum we should assume all are. That logic wouldn't bode well for Keith and Chemda's field of business.

I would like to re-iterate: I don't believe in any paranormal, spiritual, or psychic existence and yet I enjoy Robert Alvarez and can respect that hes passionate and good at what he does. I say keep him on the show a few times a year and ignore the haters.

Just like there are some quack doctors, there are some quacks in that profession too.

Robert believes in what he does and I do think he's got a gift.

Don't listen to those shows if you don't like it. A good honest debate is fine, but who are we to say what is right or not, prove Jesus was on the cross?

I believe in what I believe, and have respect for most beliefs, even if it doesn't fit with me. Pretty much for me, it's cool if it 'ain't harm none'. Otherwise, scum.

Robert, love the shows.

goddess bless to you too.

Yeah, when "spiritual" people start getting enough clout in the government to start changing our laws to fall in line with their religious beliefs and suddenly it's not only access to abortion that's at risk but birth control itself, just don't listen to them. What's the big deal?

I think Robert is and insightful and instinctive dude, but I have no faith in his psychic abilities. If I were to believe in somebody, i would need to hear at least one non-generic prediction about their personal life. As much as I think Robert kicks ass and has a ton of wisdom, I do not accept him telling people they have something they need to resolve with a friend or family member.

thats awesome someone brought up the whole james randi foundation psychic million dollar challenge. They talk about that on the Skeptics Guide to the Universe every now and then. The reason they put a deadline on it is because it has been going on for over a decade, and out of all the people that have attempted it, none have been able to pass. He says there is better things to do with the million dollars then to have it sitting there waiting for someone to win that will never happen. However, he did say that if after the deadline, if someone comes along and shows promise in proving they have real psychic ability, james randi will be more than happy to put the prize money back up.

Psychics are great for entertainment and showing you things you might not be able to see on your own, but when it comes down to making real concrete predictions, I have to join the skeptics side. I would like to have a reading done for fun while we are in new york though. It would be nice to be shown things I am unable to see.

Here is a link to the challenge info if you want to read more about it.

I listen to an atheist talk show based in Texas. From what they say both this and the previous Anti Evolution statement have been appealed and blocked out of texas courts decision making.

Allowing Creationism to be a Bachelors/masters study of science would be a HUGE!!!! blow to our cultures thin separation of church and state.

People who believe in religious healing (so much to where they oppose scientific medicine) would have a place to go and study to be a doctor.

SCARY!!!!
