The way I’m now would have answered him “ wow, your work must have really pilled up since a week ago when you suggested that drink. Congrats!”

But I wasn’t so brave in my younger years. Now hardened by years of big Pharma, I changed. Luckily!
Now I get my rejection professionally and get at least paid for it.

Oh Bianca. One November a long time ago a guy set me up with a friend of his. This was before Internet and texting. me and the guy talked on the phone, we got along and he said he would call me after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving comes and goes so mid week I called him, I mean, I thought he liked me because he said he would call me. well the guy says something like 'I said I would be the one to call you! if I wanted to call you I would have.' Ouch.
