I was asking about the senility portion of his post, not the age. It is true that those that are older did seem to favor Bush a bit, but I don't get where he got senility from. However, if there is something out there that says those that are senile favored Bush, I'd be interested in seeing it. Still, if something like that existed, I think it would be made public by now.

Where? The grain of truth is that some senile people voted for Bush? Because senility doesn't really choose parties, it just makes someone go semi-nuts.

ok. id submit that old people tend to be confused and senile no matter who they vote for, like the ones in florida who thought they voted for gore. it can go both ways. but i have no evidence that people who are both senile and old favor either party. the end.

I would fail both of those questions.

I wasn't asking you, it was just a whim of mine. And I agree, senility can cause some major confusion. That ballot example is pretty darn apt for the situation.

it all depends on the people asked and how the questions were phrased. ask people on the street who richard cheney is, many wont know, not because they dont know who he is, but because they are unsure of themselves, because of the question, as he doesnt go by that name.

ask someone what year the 2nd terrorist attack on the world trade center was. i bet even New Yorkers would have trouble with it, as people dont think about the first failed terrorist attempt to bring down one of the towers. Or ask what year flight 77 crashed in Washington DC.

polls are more or less worthless, because anyone can easily spin the facts, the questions, the results, ask skewed demographics, and essentially get them to say anything they want. and just saying they are a reputable poll company doesnt mean anything, either. FOX, CNN, BBC all also claim to be unbiased, do you believe all 3 are?

Sad

I try to not get upset about shit like this mainly because human stupidity doesn't really surprise me anymore.

Functionally, the average IQ of your average human is 100. 70 is mentally handicaped, 130 is high. On that scale, yeah 30% retarded is probably pretty accurate.

Just remember that it's not just Americans, these are the norms for our species, folks.
