The Shure E500s are the best I've ever heard

The shure in-ears take a while to get used to - get an ear mold if you plan to wear them a lot. $100 or so.

And for chrissakes plug your expensive headphones/in-ears into a DVD or cd player and listen to uncompressed audio (.e. NOT mp3's) It's incredible how accurate they are. DVD-Audio and SACD are mind-blowing.
I have been looking at the Grado SR-60 and SR-80, but they are too expensive this side of the pond. I pay more in euros than you guys in dollars, so it ends up costing about double. I'm waiting for friends or family to go to the US to pick me up a set. Not only shuld you listen to uncompressed music, but use a good headphone amp too, makes a world of difference.

that holophonic demo on SR80 gives everybody goosebumps...

here's a link for the mp3 file - listen in headphones NOT speakers. Any kind of headphones. helps if your in quiet environment/close your eyes when listening...incredible 'spatial localizations' in geek speak - front -back , left -right AND UP/DOWN. Damn cool

here's a direct link to download mp3 files. keep it on your ipod for parties...

Thanks Tech, I'll listen to it later! super excited to listen on my shures.

Thousands in buds, I think not! They're review units i get em for free.

Thanks Michael G. I was hoping everyone would enjoy the article. if you have an iPod you should own a pair of sound isolating earphones but many people are intimidates paying 200 bucks for phones.
