I am getting ready to relocate to Omaha for a new job and wanted to know if there are any KATG fans that could give me some insight into the area. (besides don"t go to the mall)
I'm currently in KC and will be taking a trip up next week to scout around for a place to rent and then I will be heading up there 12/31 for my first day of work and don't know a lot about the area and any info would be appreciated. |

The main things I know about Omaha are that it has Omaha Steaks, Berkshire Hathaway, and Rosenblatt Stadium, home of the College World Series.

I'm from Omaha too.
I'd stay away from North Omaha if it's north of maple and east from 72nd all the way to the river. On the south side from like Harrison and south, 42nd street and east I wouldn't live. Still some decent places and cool areas in those, but the neighborhoods get progressively worse. In general I'd say anything west of 72nd street you going to be in safe boring neighborhood. |
