Anyone else ever played Whirlyball?

Has anyone ever played Whirlyball? It sounds completely retarded and is incredibly white and geeky but, as I was surprised to find, it's actually pretty damn fun. It essentially involves 2 teams on bumper cars playing Trac-ball with the purpose of getting the Trac-ball into an infuriatingly small goal on either end of the court. My work sponsored a little staff outing Friday afternoon to play. Hey, free beer, pizza and bumper cars, and getting out of work early? Sounded good to us.

I found some videos online of Whirlyball, but none looked nearly as brutal as how we were playing... these people are way too damn nice to eachother. We were cussing eachother out (in good fun of course) and slamming into eachother like crazy. My legs and back are very sore today because of it. I think I almost snapped a few people's necks from whiplash myself...

Has anyone else taken part in this insanity, or hell, even heard of it? Just wondering if it's a common thing considering I just heard about it last week.

I played it once for my 18th birthday. I remember it being fun, and it seems that the technology hasn't changed in 12 years.

I played it in West Bloomfield a couple of years ago. Fun with the right group of people and some booze, hideous with the wrong group.
