It was my one goal in life to publish a book ever since I was ten or twelve. Now it's happening, so I gotta figure out my next Life Goal (tm). There's worse problems to have, yes?

I was thinking about giving it to my 15 year old (minus 9 days) daughter, but it seems to get a little rougher as it goes along. What's your opinion on "proper age"?

There's nudity, non-graphic sex, drug use and a little bit of violence, plus tons o'swears. It's the sort of book you can't MARKET to 15 year olds, but I'd like to hope SOME 15 year olds are reading. However, I doubt many parents would like their 15 year olds reading all of that. It's the sort of book I would have loved at that age, but would've felt like I was "getting away with something" reading it. So it's your call.

i bought a copy today... ny'ers, it's available at Forbidden Planet on broadway near Union Square.
i have a 16 hour flight to hong kong on sunday, i'm saving it for that. but it was exciting to see it in the store, and i know the author/illustrator!
