Aussie in NYC here for the show. What to do either side?

Now taking suggestions for what to do in NYC in any of the borroughs that would suit a cheapskate Australian who isn't interested in the usual touristy bollocks.

Thanks in advance,
Brad

PS. Your local beer is fine. I thought it was supposed to be cat piss ;-)

You need to do SOME touristy things!

Like Central Park. It's just awesome there. Don't go hungry because the food around there is either awful or priced too high. Also, don't buy food from food trucks without a price list on them. They will make up a price based on how much they want to scam you at the moment.

Here are some of my favorite place:

- Mamoun's! There are two. One on St Marks (east village) and One on McDougal (West Village). Both are pretty interesting locations. The West Village one is next door to the Comedy Cellar and down the block from Kati Roll which is the Indian burrito place that is awesome!

The Creek and The Cave: Take a look at their schedule and leave time for a bite in their outdoor space for before or after the show.

Lauren's recommendation: The benches by the water at the South Street Seaport at Dusk. You can see the Statue of Liberty from there.

Also, that's a great area to use Citibikes. The bike lane is super safe.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Would you believe Mamouns was already on the list from research done back home for the best places to eat.

Good luck today getting organised and see you all tonight.

Cheers,
Brad
