I'm gonna say Cosby was awesome. "Chocolate Cake for Breakfast" is one of the funniest routines to me. I also dig David Cross, Jim Gaffigan, Mitch Hedburg, and Eddie Murphy ("Oh, I see, you just saw Rocky.").

many others already mentioned like Bill Cosbys old comedy albums with bits like the chicken heart and Fat Albert are classic.

I don't know about his comedy, but I watched "She's the Man" with my kids the other day and he's a horrible fuckin' actor. Oh, and the movie licked monkey balls, too.

EDIT: Had to add that he was genius in Arrested Development, but that's because the role suited his shitty acting.

My dad had all the old albums. The Cosby show material was ok but the old comedy albums are incredible.
