Okay, so tonight I was riding my bike through a park by my house that has a river running through it, in a pretty heavy rainstorm (red on the radar screen). I hear someone yelling from the river, and I ride down there expecting a few kids playing a game or something. Instead I find a man standing in rushing water up to his chest, with a child under each arm (one's about 6, the other one is 12ish), and the kids are screaming bloody murder. I yell to see if there was anything I could do, and he points downriver and yells "Daughter, daughter!"

She's about 4-5, and I see her just as she goes over some rapids in an small inner tube. So I run down as far as I could go and jumped into the water to chase after her. I get to her in about 30 seconds of running through waist deep water, and pull her over to the shoreline. We walked the 100ish feet back to where her father and brothers were (they had since gotten out of the river), they said thanks, I asked if everyone was okay and I was on my way.

I broke my cell phone, mp3 player and bike speedometer because they were all in my pockets at the time... I guess no good deed goes unpunished...
