Very confusing, too many story lines going at once. I LOVED the look of the show but the flow wasn't there. I'll give it another chance though.

I understand both the confusing and the slow. I think the slow is intentional and the confusing will clear up as we get to know the characters. Maybe I'm just a sucker for the period piece thing. Sort of like the idea of these messed up vets floating around...but they're WW 1 vets.

I'm really surprised no one is talking about this as a sort of Sopranos...roughly 100 years and miles off center.

I'm not confused by the stories, I just think it's boring, and this is the kind of stuff I'm usually into. One of those things I'll keep watching, hoping it improves, like Dexter and Mad Men. Last season of Dexter and this season of Mad Men were/are good, but other than that, just whatever. I watch because I feel like I'm supposed to like it.

I absolutely love it. Every episode has been dynamite.

The speech Chalky gave in the last episode was phenomenal. Fantastic acting by Michael K. Williams.

Don't have HBO but will probably torrent the first few episodes or just wait for the DVD. I loved The Sopranos and like mob centric stuff anyway so it should be a hit for me. Hopefully it will get picked up season after season and not be another Dead Wood (which I also really liked) the only HBO show I am watching right now is True Blood and I love the network so I usually do end up checking out their new shows.

I really didn't like the first episode, it was crapola and unengaging.

However, every episode since has improved on the last. I really like this, but I'm afraid it's going to be cut down in its prime due to high production costs a la Deadwood, Rome, and Carnivale.

Steve Buscemi sex scenes - hot, creepy, and all the more scintillating.

People who hate BW Empire, what did you think of Sopranos? That show also moved fairly slow from what I remember.

I'm not confused by the multiple stories, but I did watch the first 3 episodes one after the other.

Also, Al Capone is kind of a prick. I'm glad he gets busted for tax evasion in the end.

The first season of Carnivale was amaaaaaaaaaazing. The second was just kind weird and creepy in the wrong ways.
