Brockton is a 'lil rough but most stuff down there is fine, Weymouth, Braintree's not bad, except for the actual Brain Trees, they're disgusting but you get used to it.

Oh wow I did a school exchange trip for two weeks to Andover when I was 16 - so my super current valuable insight to this topic would be: Andover has a nice highschool with students that speak really rubbish German ;-)

I've got a friend who is subletting his condo in Waltham. It might not be a bad place to start off short term, before learning the area.
