Of course it wouldn't, that's my point. We wouldn't be making any improvements in that area, but we don't actually have the utopia that gets talked about now, so why not increase the personal freedoms?

I'm not sure what we're disagreeing about.

I think that dropping marriage as a legal institution is fine, I was just saying that there would a need to clarify and make contract law more accessible since it would be filling the gap left by legal marriage for most people.

I'm willing to start the process by shooting lawyers.

The majority of people voted for prop 8, so I don't understand how everyone celebrated except the church.

I don't think we are arguing endpoint, I think we are disagreeing on the path. You still believe the government is here to help and I don't. That being said:

I'm not interested in additional "clarifications" - which always means additions to current laws. I'm all for the decrease in them however - but that requires a little bit of thinking for one's self. I think you are quite capable of understanding that whatever the situation is, however many laws are on the books - there will be those who refuse to follow them and there will be those who choose to find a way to ignore them. Fewer but simpler laws does eliminate some of the latter.

Regarding making contract law more accessible, I'm all for it. How about we stop persecuting those who read the current law and share their research?
