Center Of The Universe

So I'm going to visit the center of the universe, modern rome, home of batman, other such names... or just new york city. I'll be there from September 4th to 15th and staying in this hostel a couple blocks west of central park. And well seeing as it seems there are a fair number of you local people around these forums... I was wondering if you people had any secrets. I found the google maps thing from april so I'll check out some of those places. But hey figured maybe people want to share tips or maybe someone wants to grab a drink. I'm not too creepy. I listen to the this show and spooky's and mcnalley's so I guess that says something... but hey perhaps I'll learn something.

Isn't Gotham city the home of batman? Is Gotham the same a NY, NY? I'm so confused.

Gotham is a fictional city, but it's influenced by real-life cities. Mostly New York and Chicago

Yes its a fictional city but Gotham is also a nickname for NYC. So oh well.
