IM gonna go out on a limb here and say that the general audience for this show are more the revenge of the nerds cliche and a little less frat...although im sure there are more girls percentage wise in sorority's than men in fraternity's.

My college banned frat houses because they were so rowdy and horrible and rapey, but the only thing that did was make the frat roll-call skyrocket since there was no limiting factor like housing. The only thing I knew about the frats was to stay the fuck away from them, and there were a number of girls who got date raped every semester.

Also, in an attempt to curb the frat takeover, my school put a hold on any new greek orgs, which only embroiled them in controversy because a jewish frat wanted to open on campus and got denied and there was a whole racist mess.

But marina, you bring up a really good point and the same thing happened on our campus. there were 3 sexual assault accusations on 3 different weekends last fall and the Greek community here just died. We as a group of fraternities voted to have those three houses suspended and is currently trying to kick one of them off campus (repeated violations of rules). we also had a incident of a girl who was sexually assulted but did not want to accuse the house because she was still friends with people in the house and didn't want to make the community look bad (which the rest of house almost demanded her to name the frat so we can shut them down)

It has been much better this year, no reported incidents yet. one out ten rapes or sexual assaults are reported, so there are probably cases, just not reported. but through these incidents, we showed our community and the campus that we can govern ourselves and we are responsible and accountable. For my own chapter, we are the star and gentlemen on campus, the Vice Provost of student affairs would have dinner with us, and we have the highest gpa and all that stuff.

you can definitely be nerdy and fratty-we call it well-rounded

it disturbs me to hear about other campuses that have trouble with the greek community and it's very common, but those are house that are not living up to the ideals of their founders and they should re organize. joining a fraternity can change your life, it does so much positives for you, but don't live up to the stereotypes, that's when things gets bad.
