Diet foods...
Is it just me or does every food product now have a watered down(for lack of better terminology) verison of itself. It seems to be getting even worse now; I eatting LIGHT WHEAT BREAD from Weight Watchers.. seriously it tasted like sponge, i even saw LIGHT APPLE SAUCE in a health store.

oh yeah. there's light everything. as long as there's an original something, there's a "light" version that is out or coming out. like tofu light or reduced calorie celery. i think some of it is just a way for people to sell more shit.

yeah i think it's a disgusting marketing tool.
if there's bad shit in the product, why not just take it out? replace it with something that doesnt hurt people and when they complain about it pretend it was never there in the first place like coca cola and coke classic. /what cocaine? |

Companies usually use unhealthy contents because its cheaper and tastes better....For example: High Fructose Corn syrup is a sweetener used to substitute some sugar and it has an "addictive" reaction .. Why would you remove that? |

what i meant was that i think that some foods that are billed as "healthy alternative" may not be all that healthy. and i suggest that some foods are made simply as a means to sell something. case in point: arby's market fresh stuff. marketed to a society that is crazed by the whole atkins diet deal. instead of naughty bread, they offer wraps. normal everyday uneducated blokes such as myself (and obviously not you) assume that this is somehow healthier. upon closer inspection we see that a chicken salad wrap (sounds healthy) contains 750 calories, 8g saturated fat, and 1390mg of sodium. and that's if you're not having anything else. most people get curly fries (because they think they're eating healthy), and wash it all down w/ a diet coke. said product seems to be a far cry from the low calorie, low fat, low sodium diet that most people want to become/stay "healthy". i admit. there are plenty of healthy foods out there that are worth using as an alternative. and i honestly try to eat as healthy as i can opting for the no meat diet (actually that's mostly because my girlfriend is a veg and we live together so...) and although i slip from time to time, i try to eat healthy for my own sake. alls i'm sayin is: look into what you eat. it may not be as healthy for you as you assume. |
