I think what impresses me more than even their technical skill is that they basically created a new style of music (combining jazz rhythms with really dissonant technical metal) that no one could really copy.

I've heard of Dillinger Four but I never really listened to them. I'll have to check that out. Do you ever listen to Fucked Up Danny? They're one of my favorite punk bands, and the only one I've really been listening to lately.

Oh my God, I love Fucked Up. They're fucking incredible. I was kinda new to punk/hardcore but I read a really good review of them on Pitchfork (I know, I'm that guy.) David Comes to Life really made the summer of 2011 bearable for me. Riding my bike to work to that shit...it was perfect.

Fucked Up is pretty incredible; I'm surprised anyone knows them! I'm really hoping I get to see those guys play live sometime.

What is wrong with not knowing about someone until you read a review online or wherever? Internet review sites are one of the only places to find out about great music since TV and radio stations only promote commercial garbage.

i love dillinger escape plan , even if they seem a bit uneven with what they put out. they started amazingly with the debuit, then greg got oin and made them even better. To me they peaked with Miss Machine. the new album is good but seemms a lot like a rehashing of their old sounds.

never got into the whole djenbt scene, mostly cause all of these try too hard to sound like meshuggah, withotu having the oblique style of meshuggahg.

love fucked upo. Anyone here into The Blood Brothers?

as much as i liked them on records, they won me definitely and completely when i saw them live. Jordan Billie dressed as a meth fueled Bowie lookalike with cherry red hair was a sight to behold. pity they split.

never managed to find an equal band.

I think I saw Blood Brothers at Krazyfest in Louisville several years ago but I never got into them.

About all the punk bands I like besides Fucked Up, Sick of it All, and BANE either broke up or sold out. I used to be such a huge AFI fan, and them selling out still makes me want to vomit.

I hate poppy punk but if you guys have any other recommendations I wouldn't mind hearing them I don't have money for albums anymore and just have to listen to music on youtube or pandora.

I used to hate poppier stuff and all my friends for listening to it, but I've grown to like it because it reminds me of those shitheads. I get a real nostalgia vibe from it. I still don't like newer AFI. I've got no problem with bands changing, but it's too bad there's a whole world of people who only know their pop stuff.

Anybody know of some good female fronted bands?

Newer AFI is complete shit, that's probably why you don't like it :P

I really like Bear Vs. Shark, it's too bad they broke up after two albums =/
