Dirty Music

I know that someone posted a thread about this awhile ago, but I can't find it. I'm having an argument with someone who claims that all music before the sixties was wholesome and about traditional family values. What's the name of the woman (I think from the 1920's?) who Keith played on the show singing about fucking?

Shit, I can't remember that song exactly. But I believe it's pretty well documented that "black music" way before the sixties was dirty as hell. When you hear the term "jelly roll" in a song, it's likely talking about a dick. I'm not sure about more traditional "white" music if that's more what the argument is about.

The thread was on page 2 of Talk Shite. What was that one show with the old-school female crooner who sang dirty lyrics?
It's from episode 1279, called The Bitch from Baltimore. And the song is indeed by Lucille Bogan.

Lucille Bogan also did a great song called Shave'em Dry, Alberta Hunter - You Can't Tell The Difference After Dark. Hope that helps
