I think I would be a good mother because I am older now and have learned from my friends and family who have kids. I had the shit beaten out of me as a kid by my stepmother. I know not to blame my children for being children. Expecting that they know more than they actually do is only setting myself up for disaster and disappointment. I know that kids are actually wonderful and are full of possibilities, and it's just about finding which possibilities are best to latch on to and develop. Even the asshole kids have great opportunities in them. But like I said, I know this because I am older and have taken the time to learn and study children for who they are and not what I wish they would be.

I'm gonna be an awesome dad. 0400 reveille, white glove room inspections, intense physical exercise for punishment - What kid wouldn't love that? Oh, and no direct eye contact; gotta maintain my dominance over the pack.

Inbetween the art projects, community volunteering, granola eating, and rolling down grassy hills into giggly tangled people piles followed by cloud watching and nature hikes.

We'll have the most patriotic, well-behaved, hippie children in the world. Watch out future America.

Yeah, I think I'd be a pretty awesome dad. I'd probably have my moments where I seem unreasonably demanding...but hopefully not often...I think I'm reasonable..I just think kids, no matter how good or bad you are as a parent
will find reason to say to you "God! That's so unfair!"

Remind me not to put my kid on your soccer team.

Children crave discipline, so they say. Mine... not so much

Statistics suggest that due to my own horrible childhood, I won't be a very good parent. I'd like to think that I'm mature and evolved enough to be able to avoid the mistakes my parents made, but if it was really that simple to avoid physical abuse and neglect, why couldn't my parents manage it? They're not dumb people.

I guess we'll see. I still plan on adopting and raising the cast-off children of others in a middle-aged attempt to stave off death with progeny of any kind.

Maybe I'll be just as bad as my parents were. But even if they were deplorable ass hats, my parents still did right by me somehow. I mean, my childhood was shit, but my adulthood is pretty consistently awesome, rewarding, incredible and unreal.
