I dislike cops simply for traffic laws basically. I think there are alot more important things going on that should be taken care of other than sitting around watching for someone going 5mph over the speed limit.

I don't sit around criticizing what they do or the actions they take "in the moment" so to speak. Thats what I'm talking about people criticizing them and judging their actions after its all over with. Sure things seem different after its over, that happens with anything, but as long as its not grossly mismanaged people should take into account that Police have to think quickly and react quickly alot of the time.

Is it not possible to think someone has your best interests in mind and dislike that at the same time?

From what i saw it looked like the police lady tried jerking the knife out of her hand, the old lady had the knife in a death grip. So the old lady lost balance and fell hard on the ground. It was shocking watching it all go down.

I'm pretty sure she stuck out her leg used it to uproot the old lady for the takedown. However, this was right after the cameraman decided to get closer so you don't get a good view of what's going on with the knife right before the old lady goes down. It looks like the cop is trying to disarm the woman, but you can't tell if the woman tried to stab her, did cut her, etc. Has anyone seen any media coverage of this? I wonder what sort of hot water the cop is in... I don't think it would warrant termination or even suspension, but maybe some more training? That's just my opinion based on some shaky camera footage though.

She did exactly what should have been done. If her own children thought the situation could have been handled without force they would have done it themselves. This cop probably thought about the taser and opted not to use it because of her age. That and we don't know what she was saying to the cops, or what she was doing with the knife before the police arrived.

Here is a video of the media coverage. I actual think the cop handled it just fine. I am kinda surprise this has not blow up more on the news. I would even think if the cop used a taser that would of been fine, Cops first priority is to make sure everyone around is safe and to protect themselfs.
