Election 2012
There are a lot of hot-button topics coming up in this election, and for the people who are unsure of what the main issues are, or are not sure of how they should vote, here is a good place to talk about them.
Even though I have been voting in elections since 1996, this is the first time I have really felt affected by all issues, not just the ones that seemed the most interesting to me. I mean, I may not give a shit about Medicare now, but if the program all but disappears as a result of this election, then I might not have it in 30 years when I need it. And I may not see myself getting an abortion or otherwise visiting Planned Parenthood anytime soon, I might be greatly disturbed if I am raped, in need of an abortion, and the funding was cut for it. Other thoughts? |

Hey polytards, I'm really happy for you and Imma let you finish, but I can't bring myself to give a shit. Fortunately there's fivethirtyeight.com and I can just follow the stats like a game. Oh, and: So my vote doesn't even matter at all, thus I feel free to not only not care about the election, but also feel superior to anybody in the office who wastes their time debating like their opinion or vote matters. Apathetics in your state aren't as fortunate, but it's still a far cry.

The only way a third party could ever really take off and be taken seriously would be if someone like Michael Bloomberg ran, TONS of money and therefore no need to cater to political groups. You voting for the green party does absolutely nothing.

I don't vote for the Green party. The only third party to actually stick around and consistently keep people on the ballot at all levels has been the libertarians. |
