I clutch my purse all the time except if I'm alone. At some point I realized that the only time I would unconsciously un-clutch it was when I felt particularly scared of a black man, because of things like this vid that I'd seen since childhood. Threatening men of any other race got the same clutch treatment. Now I just always clutch my purse. Fuck what you think, I still have a purse today.

On a more serious note, if you want to harm someone simply because they're intimidated by you, that's pretty fucked up. I think you have some issues. I was talking to a neighbor that moved a while back and we came to this conclusion. He is not alerted of mexicans or latins unless they have bald heads, baggy clothes, gangster tattoos, and a thug mannerism(although I think he was shot for being the wrong race in the wrong place or slanging or both) and anyone of any race can meet that. So we came to the conclusion that around here the "thug" is the only fear.

I think its crazy the amount of sterotypes there are about peoples appearances. Then again though, if I were worried about people sterotyping me because of my appearance then I wouldn't dress in such a way to be sterotyped. Course what do I know, I'm whitey.
