Reminds me of a movie i saw...i think it's called Nirgendwo in Afrika
where a german jewish family runs away to Kenya in the 1930's and
when the locusts come for the crops the natives shake the crops
and collect the locusts...and eat them.

as for pigs: i know that in the bible jesus cast demons out into a heard of pigs. i don't know if that has anything to do w/ anything but there you go.
