Well, if you're looking for non-English bands, I suggest "Les Breastfeeders". They're a French rock/punk outfit from Quebec. I think Montreal. Not only do they rock, but it's fun to tell people you're listening to The Breastfeeders. lol.
Thanks for asking actually, because I'm gonna have to put them on my next podcast now. Well, the one after the one I just put together. And actually, if you look at my last episode (I think) there is a spanish/english cover of Bad Timing by Blue Rodeo by a guy named Alex Cuba. In fact, anything I've heard so far by Alex Cuba is really cool, if you like the Spanish-style music.

So on one of your suggestions I was looking for the Los Campesinos album and came across a band called Midlake, which is awesome. Never heard of them before but they're great. Kind of like Matt Pond Pa crossed with Bob Dylan. Not a sad sound, just a mellow stoned sound. Love it. The album is called The Trials of Van Occupanther.
